There is a Power in The Universe available to EVERYONE

I spent a lot of time watching the US Open Tennis Championships over the last two weeks. It is one of my favorite sporting events, and it was especially exciting to see so many American players reach the semi-finals. I reflected on how sports bring together people from so many different backgrounds.

Jessica Pegula, who made it to the finals, is the daughter of one of the wealthiest families in America. Her father owns several sports teams, so I assume she had access to the best resources money could buy for her tennis career.

Frances Tiafoe, a player in the men's semi-finals, is the son of an immigrant who fled the civil war in Sierra Leone. His father got a job as a day laborer building a tennis complex in College Park, Maryland. When the facility was completed, he was hired as the on-site custodian. He was given a spare office at the facility, where he lived with Frances and his twin brother. Frances' mother worked as a night nurse, so they would
see her when she wasn’t working. The tennis center waived the usual training fees, and the boys started in the junior program at the age of five. Frances' work ethic and dedication allowed him to excel so much that the coaches sponsored him to play in tournaments. At nine, he was invited to train at the national training center in Florida, where the U.S. Tennis Association covered his boarding and training. Jessica and Frances did not win their matches, but this is a beautiful demonstration of how the law does not discriminate—it is available to everyone.

This is what I love about Spirit. Jessica’s soul wanted to play tennis, so Spirit placed her in a family that could financially support her dreams. Frances’ soul also wanted to play tennis, so he was put in a situation that allowed him opportunities, which he said yes to.

My path was somewhat similar to Frances’. I started playing tennis when I was eight. My parents divorced when I was around 13, and my mom could no longer afford my tennis lessons. My coach sponsored me, so I continued to play. Tennis gave me my first job at 13. I attended a private high school on financial aid/scholarship due to tennis, and tennis paid for college through another tennis scholarship.

Now, tennis has given me an amazing career and wonderful financial opportunities. Tennis helped pay my way through practitioner and ministerial school. (Side note: I did get a scholarship for part of ministerial school.) I like to say that my dad paid for my brother to go to school, and my other father, God, paid for me.

Back then, I wasn’t fully conscious of how Spirit worked, but I knew that if I could get a scholarship to go to a private high school, so could my students. Over the years, I have encouraged students to apply to private schools. Their parents said they couldn’t afford them, but some of them manifested it, while others did not. Two of them ended up at elite boarding schools on the East Coast. One child’s scholarship even included round-trip tickets home for the holidays for all four years, as well as summer abroad programs.

Through our teachings, I now understand that there is a power in the universe that I can use for good.

I remember the day I learned how the law works. I was sitting in my first Foundations class at Granada Hills CSL, where we did an exercise. Whatever we declared, we would reply, “Yes.” If I declared I was healthy, the law would say, “Yes, you are healthy.” If I declared I was fat, the law would say, “Yes, you are fat.” If I declared I needed money, the law would say, “Yes, you need money.” If I declared I was financially abundant, the law would say, “Yes, you are financially abundant.” I thought this was the coolest thing ever.

There is one caveat: what is rightfully mine would not be denied, but it might be delayed. I had to first build the capacity to receive. I had an unconscious limiting belief that was sabotaging my declarations, and until I cleared that unconscious belief, it blocked my prosperity in certain areas. Interestingly, in some areas of my life, I’m solid in my prosperity consciousness, while in others, I still need a tune-up and reminders from my prayer partners, who say to me, “Do you really want to own that statement?!”

Today, I fully realize that if there is something I want to manifest for my highest and best good, I don’t have to know how it will happen. I just need to clear a path to healing and release any story, misidentification, or beliefs that might be blocking my good. I ask you: Is there a place in your life that needs healing? Is there a story you keep telling yourself about someone or something that makes you miserable? Is there something in your life that you want but keeps eluding you? Is there something you have told yourself you just can’t do? Is there something you want to do, learn, or be, but you don’t think you are good enough, have enough, or are smart enough?

I want you to know with me, right here and right now: “My highest and best manifests for me now, and I am grateful!” I don’t have to know how, when, or why—I just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other, keep setting my intentions clearly, and lift anything that is blocking me. Most importantly, I remain grateful for what I have now. Let’s affirm for Jessica Pegula and Frances Tiafoe that, if it is for the highest and best,
they will become winners of a major tennis championship!

If you have ever said, “I want to, but…”, “Wow, that sounds like so much fun, but I don’t have…”, or “I wish I could do that, but…”, I encourage you to join Rev. Michael Lattimore’s Foundations class starting September 18th. This is where I first learned these amazing principles and practices that have allowed me to shift and lift my consciousness to open to receive. I am knowing for everyone that we are open to this amazing power in the universe!
