REV. MICHAEL BERNARD LATTIMORE MA

 

We are pleased to announce that our new Spiritual Director/Senior Minister is Rev. Michael Bernard Lattimore MA!

 

A Heart-Centered Leader who walks his talk

He is a Spiritual Psychology major with 26 years of sacred service to the Ahiah CSL beloved community.  A life long student of world religions and former Catholic altar boy destined for the seminary, he has walked with the Sufis, practiced Islam, and chosen Buddhism as a life path in the 1980's.  He uses this diverse spiritual life experience and wisdom as the basis of his wisdom talks, classes, experientials and ceremonies.  Rev. Michael is a heart-centered leader who is known for his empathy, compassion and kindness. He demonstrates these beliefs in his service to our community and the incarcerated of California prisons.

Proven Leadership Skills

As a former diversity trainer for one of the worlds largest utilities, he has developed the heartful resilience to serve our diverse Ahiah beloved community. He is comfortable with  organizational change behaviors having served the corporate world as a cybersecurity awareness evangelist, bringing culture change to 25,000 employees and contractors at Southern California Edison.

 

He has a wide range of technical, people and emotional intelligence skills and is a once "wounded healer" by nature. Rev. Michael celebrates longterm recovery with 37 years supporting 12 step programs throughout the nation. He acclaims his truth that "My wound is my Gift to the world".

Rev. Michael's business background offers a wealth of experience that will prove beneficial for the business requirements for Ahiah:

He has a multi-faceted career as a corporate manager, game show contestant coordinator, casting agent, public speaker, cybersecurity and leadership consultant, and has:

  • Managed an enterprise wide organizational culture transformation for a company of 25,000.

  • Co-founded the International Association of Security Awareness Professionals training Fortune 100 companies in best cybersecurity practices globally

  • Served for 30 years on a multitude of Pasadena and national non-profits, leading strategic planning and finance committees

  • Facilitated Cybersecurity Awareness training and career coaching for hundreds of cybersecurity students and candidates

  • Facilitated Diversity@SCE training for thousands of SCE employees over 10+ years

  • Facilitated compassionate experiential education as a volunteer in California prisons since 2009

Rev. Michael graduated Agape's University of Transformational Leadership in 2008 with a dual Bachelors degree in Religious Studies and Ministerial studies. He received his MA degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in 2009.

​

Rev. Michael is also a certified Co-Active Coach(CPCC) and an Associate Certified Coach (ICF) with Heart Based Coaching based in the Phillipines.

​

He has social service ministries in Guinea-Bissau, home of his Balanta ancestors where he installs solar lights in villages, supports sustainable farming projects and sponsors youth education projects.

​

In 2023, he became a co-founder for the People Segment of LivingCities.earth, a global leadership organization helping people worldwide to "human well" together. The LCE network is an agent of our planet's  essential cultural evolution and helps us learn together how to create this shift most effectively at a planetary scale working with leaders from around the earth.

​

As a theme for his ministry, he is all about Sacred Service, and believes that "We are each others Medicine". 

 

Rev. Michael affirms his secret to heart-centered living is Loving God in the form of each  person he meets.

​

He is also a former foster parent, father, grandfather, loving husband and living ancestor to his community.

​

His favorite ancient scripture is from Sanskrit and reads:

 

"One single human being,

awakened to the reality

of their own life,

will create a similar awakening

in another human being."

​
