MEET YOUR BOARD CANDIDATES
All five candidates bring a wealth of knowledge, a passion for our teachings, and a profound love for Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living. We are so proud to introduce them to you:
RAY COLEMAN
Ray has been a student of Ernest Holmes and Science of Mind since she was a young woman, and she brings a powerful combination of financial expertise, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail. With a background in accounting and experience across both for-profit and non-profit organizations, Ray's ability to negotiate, remain transparent, and dig into the details will be an extraordinary asset to Ahiah's leadership. She describes herself as "a geek before that term even existed" — and we are here for every bit of it!
JACK COUSINEAU
Jack has been a beloved member of the Ahiah community for more than 20 years. Though he now resides in Berkeley, his heart has never left this spiritual home — he attends services online, participates in the Sahita and Creating Beloved Community circles, and tithes faithfully. A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the late season of a distinguished career, Jack brings creative thinking, relational wisdom, and a deep personal investment in seeing Ahiah grow and thrive — especially as his daughter and granddaughter call Ahiah home.
LAURA HACKNEY
Laura has been part of the Ahiah community for two and a half years, and in that time her gifts have been unmistakable. A Pasadena native with a fine arts degree and an extraordinary 32-year career in international shipping management — where she oversaw work groups of up to 400 people, led safety and quality programs, and was even trained in behavioral analysis alongside U.S. Customs — Laura brings a rare combination of creative spirit and organizational excellence. She listens deeply, communicates calmly, and accomplishes tremendous things. Ahiah is so ready for what she carries.
ALICIA McCLELLAN
Alicia is a dedicated Ahiah community member and an accomplished educator — a professor of Welding at Pasadena City College and Rio Hondo College — whose classroom presence has shaped countless lives. She brings to the board a gift for clear communication, collaborative leadership, creative problem-solving, and empowering others to reach their full potential. Adaptable, calm under pressure, and deeply empathetic, Alicia leads with both her head and her heart. Her passion for community and her commitment to Ahiah's mission make her an inspired addition to our board.
NADINE WEATHERSBY
Nadine Weathersby is a writer, ordained Center for Spiritual Living minister, and creative visionary whose life and work are a testimony to faith, resilience, and transformation. She holds a Doctorate in Metaphysical Science and is the author of The Depths of Soil — a powerful memoir of love, loss, and spiritual strength that has touched readers around the world. Nadine currently serves as a team lead at We Care Community, where she supports autistic and mentally challenged adults. Her breadth of experience, spiritual depth, and servant's heart make her a profoundly meaningful voice for this community.

WHY YOUR PRESENCE MATTERS
Beloved, the Annual Board Meeting is not just a formality — it is a sacred act of community. When you show up, whether in the sanctuary or on a screen, you are casting a vote with your presence that says: I believe in this community. I am invested in its future. I am part of something greater than myself. Only church members will be voting. If you are not a member you still want to join us to learn more about Ahiah and perhaps consider becoming a member to vote in our next annual meeting. Learn about the perks of being a member of the Ahiah Community.
Every voice in that room, every face on that Zoom screen, every vote cast is a declaration that Ahiah is alive, well, and moving powerfully into its next chapter. The decisions made in this meeting — the board members we elect, the direction we affirm, the vision we embrace — will shape the life of this community for years to come. This is not a meeting to miss. This is a moment to show up for one another, for Ahiah, and for every soul this community is destined to touch.
Come with energy. Come expectant. Come ready to say YES to the next glorious season of Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living.
