About Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living Pasadena

Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living Pasadena was founded in 1942 as the Pasadena Church of Religious Science.  The church was one of the first of many to be founded under the leadership of Science of Mind founder, Ernest Holmes.  Ahiah is one of more than 450 Centers for Spiritual Living organizations worldwide, dedicated to providing spiritual tools to transform personal lives and help make the world a better place.

Religious Science and Science of Mind supports the belief that the Universal Presence, God, Spirit is a Divine Presence within all beings.  The Church is not affiliated with Christian Science churches or in any way with Scientology, but there was considerable confusion with the general public about this.  The members of the Pasadena Church changed their name to Ahiah Center for Spiritual Awakening with the addition of Rev. Charles D. Rose as the Senior Minister.  With the mergers of United Church of Religious Science International, all of the chartered churches are now under the umbrella of the merged organization, Centers for Spiritual Living.

Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living Pasadena offers a safe place for all to worship.  The Center attracts a diverse group of spiritual seekers from many religious and spiritual backgrounds.  Ahiah provides spiritual seekers the freedom to explore and expand their spirituality with many tools to inspire Spiritual Practice.

The prelude to Ahiah’s regular Sunday Celebration Service includes a meditation facilitated by Ahiah Practitioners as well as guest Facilitators.  A lively band, in-house singers and guest artists provide musical inspiration.  The service is rounded out with pulpit support from a variety of practitioners, ministers, guest speakers and the regular featured wisdom talks provided by Senior Minister Rev. Scott Olson and/or Assistant Minister, Rev. Michael B. Lattimore.   Afterwards, attendees gather in the Fellowship Hall for refreshments, and sometimes full-out potluck meals.  Throughout the week, the Center offers a wide range of ministries for like-minded seekers with similar interests, prayer support, classes, workshops, book study, special interest groups, meditations, drum circles and much more.

Senior Minister, Rev. Scott Olson leads a congregation of more than 200 inspired members in the exploration of spiritual principles and pathways to God.  Many of his Wisdom Talks center around the teachings of ancient wisdom from the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Buddha, Christ Consciousness, as well as the New Thought trail blazers such as Ernest Homes, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Emma Curtis Hopkins, Phineas Quimby, Thomas Troward, and others.

Rev. Michael Bernard Lattimore is Ahiah’s Assistant Minister and the resident Community Ambassador.  He serves on several Non-Profit boards in the community that provide opportunities for the Ahiah congregants to participate in volunteer and outreach ministries.  He has an extensive community service background, is active in prison ministries and passionate about the Freedom to Choose Project – which was initially created to help prisoners make better life choices, but has grown to include anyone wanting to escape the prison of the mind.  Rev. Mike participates regularly in prison ministries, serving as ministerial inspiration for men as well as women.   His passion for service is humbling, inspirational and contagious.
