Creating from the Overflow

The Myth of Not Enough

How many dreams have been delayed because we were waiting for the perfect conditions?

We tell ourselves, "When I have more money, more time, more support, more certainty, then I'll begin."

Yet every great creation in history began not with having everything, but with recognizing what was already present.

Within each of us lives the Divine gift of imagination. Twentieth-century mystic Neville Goddard taught that imagination is God in action. When we engage our imagination consciously, we allow Spirit to use us as instruments of creation. We begin to see beyond appearances and shift our gaze from what the human eye perceives to the highest vision that Spirit sees.

This month's theme, Reimagine, invites us to move beyond limitation and into possibility. Before we can create something new, we must first recognize the abundance that already surrounds us and lives within us.

The Difference Between Scarcity and Overflow

Scarcity asks:

• What's missing?

• What do I lack?

• Why can't I?

Overflow asks:

• What's already here?

• What's seeking expression?

• How can I serve?

Scarcity focuses on conditions.

Overflow focuses on consciousness.

As Ahiah enters a new season of emergence, some may wonder whether we are doing too much or asking too much of our community. Yet overflow reminds us that God has never stopped creating people who long to serve, contribute, and make a difference. Divine Supply always accompanies Divine Demand. There is no genuine need without a corresponding supply already seeking expression.

For nearly twenty-eight years, I have had the privilege of serving this community in countless ways.

While there have been seasons when I needed to slow down to focus on family, ministry, and global missions, I have discovered something profound: Spirit never tires. Spirit simply redirects. There comes a time when Divine Wisdom whispers, "Step aside and allow someone else the blessing of serving."

I am experiencing that lesson now.

Our Creating Beloved Community circles have been a beautiful expression of connection, healing, and intimacy for the past six years, bringing together members of Ahiah and friends from beyond our walls. Yet part of practicing shared leadership is creating space for new voices, new ideas, and new expressions of service to emerge.

The same has been true in my work with Centers for Spiritual Living Camp Leadership and the development of the Unconscious Bias curriculum. After helping build and launch these programs alongside our Youth Director, Ms. Lisa, the time came to step back and allow others to lead.

This is what some traditions call the Spirit of Rotation. In the Twelve Step movement, trusted servant roles rotate so that everyone has an opportunity to contribute, grow, and experience the blessing of service.

Overflow means understanding that leadership is not diminished when it is shared—it is multiplied.

Jesus demonstrated this principle when he fed thousands with a few loaves and fishes. He saw beyond appearances and recognized a deeper spiritual abundance. Some metaphysical interpretations suggest that his faith inspired people to stop hoarding what they had brought for themselves and begin sharing freely with one another. When hearts opened, abundance appeared.

They gave from the overflow.

Reimagining Our Supply

Ernest Holmes taught that Spirit is an Infinite Source forever expressing Itself through us.

When we identify ourselves as separate from that Source, life feels limited.

When we remember our unity with Spirit, we begin creating from a different place—not from fear, but from faith; not from anxiety, but from trust.

The question shifts from:

"Do I have enough?"

to

"What wants to emerge through me?"

That simple shift changes everything.

Signs You Are Creating from Overflow

You are creating from overflow when:

• You share your gifts freely.

• You focus on possibilities rather than obstacles.

• You celebrate others' success instead of comparing yourself.

• You trust inspiration and act upon it.

• You give from gratitude rather than obligation.

• You make room for others to contribute and shine.

Overflow is not measured by the size of a bank account.

It is measured by the expansiveness of consciousness.

What Ahiah Is Reimagining

As a community, we are learning to create from the overflow of our collective gifts, talents, relationships, creativity, and spiritual vision.

We are reimagining what is possible through:

• New community partnerships

• Expanded outreach and service

• New revenue opportunities through grants, facility rentals, and healing events

• Deeper and more frequent visioning conversations

• Greater participation from members, friends, and the wider community

Rather than focusing on what we lack, we are asking a different question:

"What has Spirit already provided that we have yet to fully activate?"

That question is opening new doors and revealing new possibilities.

A Practice for your Week

Take a few moments each day and ask yourself:

"What abundance is already present in my life that I have overlooked?"

Then listen.

You may discover that the resource you've been waiting for has already arrived in the form of an idea, a relationship, a talent, an opportunity, or simply the willingness to say yes.

Reimagining our lives begins with reimagining our supply.

Creation does not begin with accumulation.

It begins with awareness.

When we recognize the abundance of Spirit within us and around us, we stop creating from fear and begin creating from overflow.

And from that overflow, new possibilities emerge, communities flourish, leaders rise, and lives are transformed.

Affirmations for your Week

I create from the abundance of Spirit within me. What I need is already present, already unfolding, and already finding its way into expression through me.

I release thoughts of scarcity and limitation. I trust the infinite creativity of God to reveal new pathways, new partnerships, and new possibilities every day.

I joyfully share my gifts and make space for others to share theirs. Together we create a beloved community where everyone belongs, everyone contributes, and everyone thrives.

A Call to Action

This week, choose one area of your life where you have been focused on what is missing. Reimagine it through the lens of abundance. Ask yourself, "What is already here that I can use, nurture, share, or activate?"

Then take one courageous step.

Join an Ahiah circle. Volunteer for a ministry. Attend a gathering. Share an idea. Invite a friend. Offer your talent. Say yes to a new possibility.

The future we are reimagining will not be created by a few people doing more. It will be created by all of us giving from the overflow of who we already are.

And so the question becomes: What wants to emerge through you next?
