A Five-Step Journey Toward Spiritual Liberation

"Love points the way and law makes the way possible."Ernest Holmes

"The end is reconciliation; the end is redemption; the end is the creation of the Beloved Community."Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Freedom is more than the breaking of personal chains. It is the awakening of a consciousness that makes reconciliation possible and transforms a collection of individuals into a Beloved Community.

Ernest Holmes reminds us that Love is the guiding principle of the universe. The Creative Law responds to the consciousness we embody, making visible the beliefs, values, and intentions we consistently hold. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminds us that love's highest social expression is the Beloved Community—a world where justice, compassion, dignity, and reconciliation become lived realities rather than distant ideals.

Taken together, these two visionaries offer a profound spiritual insight: our inner freedom and our collective freedom are inseparable. As we liberate our own consciousness from fear, judgment, scarcity, and separation, we help liberate the communities we belong to. Personal transformation becomes social transformation.

This invites each of us to ask a courageous question:

What chains must we break—not only within ourselves, but among ourselves—to become the community Love intended?

The Beloved Community is not built merely through shared beliefs or common goals. It is created as we consciously choose love over fear, unity over division, forgiveness over resentment, and service over self-interest. It begins in our individual hearts, flourishes in our relationships, and ultimately becomes a living demonstration of the Divine in action.

This week, let us explore five movements that can help unchain our hearts, our relationships, and our communities, bringing us ever closer to the vision of the Beloved Community.

1. The Dream

What is the Beloved Community?

The Beloved Community is more than a congregation or neighborhood. It is a way of being together rooted in love, justice, compassion, and our shared divine identity. It begins when we recognize that every person is an expression of the One Life.

Reflection: What kind of community are we becoming?

Take a moment to read this month’s Prosperity Press magazine lovingly created by Rev. Nicole and her mom Margie, to learn what we are becoming! Consider contributing an article.

2. The Chains

What Keeps Us Bound?

Many of the barriers that divide us are invisible—fear, scarcity, judgment, unforgiveness, old stories, and the illusion of separation. These chains don't just affect individuals; they shape the culture of entire communities.

Reflection: Which invisible chain am I ready to release?

Take time out to listen to my wisdom talk  “Chains We Cannot See” during last week’s Celebration service.

3. The Awakening

Choosing Unity Over Division

Every transformation begins with awareness. As we awaken to our spiritual nature, we begin replacing fear with faith, criticism with compassion, and separation with connection. The Beloved Community grows every time one person chooses love over ego.

Reflection: Where is Spirit inviting me to see with new eyes?

If you're struggling to see beyond fear or old patterns, allow one of our Licensed Spiritual Practitioners to stand with you in prayer. Sometimes a new perspective begins with someone holding the vision of your highest good until you can see it for yourself.

4. The Practice

Living the Beloved Community

Communities are transformed one conscious choice at a time. This week, practice listening deeply, welcoming someone new, offering forgiveness, extending kindness, and asking, "How can I contribute to the well-being of others?"

Reflection: What action can I take today that strengthens our shared life?

Take a moment and tune in to the Dial-A-Prayer for this week. Then allow that inspiration to move you to take one small action towards Living our Beloved Community.

5. The Invitation

Become a Community Builder

The Beloved Community is not someone else's responsibility—it is ours. Every loving thought, every generous act, and every courageous conversation helps remove another link from the chains that keep us apart. Together, we become the living expression of divine love in the world.

Reflection: How is Spirit calling me to help unchain our community?

On Aug 8, join us in Soul Liberation as Rev. Nicole leads us in a day of Visioning, Manifestation and Renewal. Details for the Lions Gate Portal Retreat are on the Ahiah website Workshops page.

Your Liberation Affirmations for this Week

I release every belief that separates me from others.

I recognize the Divine Presence in every person.

I choose love over fear, unity over division, and compassion over judgment.

As I awaken to the truth of our oneness, I help create a Beloved Community where every soul is welcomed, every gift is honored, and every life is transformed. Together, we are unchained.

This week, join me in consciousness as together we anchor our lives in the love, abundant prosperity and joy of creating Beloved Community for one another. We are each others medicine!

Remember we are always surrounded by Blessings and Light,

RevMichael (Kisumma)
