Rising Above the Story

There is a story you have been telling yourself.
Not just occasionally—but daily, quietly, consistently. A narrative shaped by past experiences, disappointments, fears, and inherited beliefs. It speaks in subtle ways: this is as far as I can go… this is who I am… this is what I can expect from life. Over time, that story can feel so real, so familiar, that it becomes indistinguishable from truth.
But it is not the truth of you.
It is only a pattern. And patterns can be changed.
At the very core of Science of Mind is a liberating realization:You are not your story—you are the one telling it.
That insight alone has the power to transform your life.
Ernest Holmes taught that the mind is creative, not passive. It doesn’t just record reality—it helps generate it. “Change your thinking, change your life” is not wishful thinking; it is spiritual law in action.
Life responds to consciousness. What we dwell upon, believe in, and emotionally accept as true becomes the blueprint for our experience.
So what does it mean to rise above the story?
It begins with awareness.
At some point, you become willing to notice the narrative running within you. The quiet assumptions: I don’t have enough… I’m not ready… things never work out for me. And instead of automatically agreeing, you pause. You observe.
In that moment, something sacred happens.
A space opens.
A gap between you and the thought.
And in that gap, your freedom is revealed.
Because once you can see the story, you are no longer confined by it. You begin to remember that you are the awareness behind the thought—not the thought itself. This is what Science of Mind calls spiritual realization: returning to the truth of your being.
And that truth is powerful.
You are an expression of Infinite Life. You are rooted in wholeness, not lack. You are aligned with abundance, not limitation. You are guided by intelligence, not confusion.
The old story—the one built on fear, scarcity, or self-doubt—is not your identity. It is simply a habit of thought reinforced over time. And through spiritual practice, it can be released and replaced.
This is not about denying challenges or pretending pain doesn’t exist. It is about refusing to let those experiences define your identity or dictate your future. It is about reclaiming your authority as a conscious creator.
Holmes emphasized that the subconscious mind accepts what we repeatedly impress upon it with feeling. That means real change requires more than surface-level intention—it requires embodiment. It requires feeling into a new truth until it becomes natural.
This is where practices like meditation, affirmative prayer, and visioning become essential. They anchor you in a deeper awareness. They align you with what is already true beneath the noise of the conditioned mind.
And this week, you have a powerful opportunity to deepen that alignment.
The Ahiah Health and Wellness Faire this weekend is not just an event—it is an experience designed to awaken something within you. It is a space where healing, insight, and renewal come together. A space where you can reconnect with your inner wisdom and activate the spiritual clarity needed to rise above old limitations. Bring someone with you so that they too can experience the wondrous energy of spiritual community, health and well being.
When you care for your mind, body, and spirit in a conscious way, something shifts.
You begin to see beyond the old narrative. You begin to feel new possibilities stirring within you.You begin to remember who you truly are.
And from that awareness, a new story emerges—one rooted in truth, power, and purpose.
The old story may not disappear overnight. But it will lose its authority. It will no longer define you.
Because you will have anchored yourself in something deeper.
You will know:
You are not the past. You are not the limitation. You are not the story.
You are the consciousness in which all stories arise.
And consciousness is always free.
So this week, give yourself permission to rise. To release. To awaken to something greater. There is a higher vision of your life already seeking expression—and it is calling you forward now.
Affirmations for your Week
“I release every false story of limitation and rise into the truth of my infinite potential.
I am aligned with the power, presence, and intelligence of the One Life, and it expresses as clarity, abundance, and purpose in me now.
I choose a new story rooted in truth, and I rise—again and again—into greater freedom, love, and possibility.”
You are not alone. You are a part of a magnificent beloved community, and your life is unfolding in glorious ways!
Always remember that we are surrounded by unlimited Blessings & Light,
